Yes, normal GTA 5 is fine, but FiveM opens new realms of GTA, I personally just play in velocity drift servers and have hella fun. From what ive heard FiveM went into a legal dispute after the developer didnt require users to have legally bought the game. FiveM SP is pretty awesome and you should give it a shot sometime, it's basically just the entire SP game in the FiveM framework, so if you want to test anything without Rockstar knowing and risking a ban from GTA:O you can do so safely.
