Since every stat is hard capped at 20, once you reach 20 in a stat, the bonus will no longer apply, but the penalty will still be there. this seems really poorly thought out.}

Training is everything. You can do this by doing or by buying lessons from teachers(50 groschen for the first lesson, around a 1000 groschen for the last lesson), and reading a book that relates to the field you want to train in. Similar to lessons, you can read books that you have a total level in.

Burgher is a Main Level Perk in Kingdom Come: Deliverance. In towns and villages and their immediate vicinity you have a +1 bonus on Strength, Agility, Vitality and Speech. Savage is a Main Level Perk in Kingdom Come: Deliverance. In the wilds you have a +1 bonus on Strength, Agility, Vitality and Speech.

Also, the reading skill perks can increase your charisma, and speech skills when talking with guards, and even reveal the whole map. There are plenty of books to find in Kingdom Come: Deliverance, but that doesn’t mean they're easy to find. So you’ll need to explore the land far and wide for rare novels.

Hardcore - i just finished all negative perks - it wasnt bad. Food: Foodpots only give 5 instead of 25. Cabbage is the best deal - general traders and veggie traders sell it - most food for the silver. I always kept 4-5 in my inventory (i ate about 3-4 per day) Saves from sleeping and Potions still work - Quest Start saves are not available

Lvl 1-5 not bad I guess. Speech isn't that hard to level, but it does take quite a long time, and it's incredibly useful in the early game, so propably that. Strenght is another good one, as the carrying capacity at the start of the game is incredibly important, and you can also wield stronger weapons early in the game with it. Speech every time.
